"Without the label Wild Wild Rennes, we might never had the chance and the pleasure to listen to Cleaner’s timeless pop-rock, a collective driven by the talented but discreet songwriter Adrian Long. It would have been a real shame not to be able to discover the melodies created by the thin 40 something brilliant songwriter that you could easily imagine working away in a London basement flat for the rest of his days. The guy, you understand, doesn’t care one bit about being a pop-star.
He does care however about the cleanliness of his music and knows how to scrub it of any superfluous element. Keyboards, guitars and rhythms go straight to the point and some Cleaner songs could be seen as the missing link between Oasis, Eels and Nirvana. On « Escape », the guitarist and band leader supported by some great London musicians shows that he is indeed a child from the country that gave us The Beatles and The Buzzcocks. But not only. His simple but well conceived songs are also inspired by music coming from the other side of the Atlantic as shown by the little bit of rap in « Throw You Away ». But references are not that important and Cleaner use them to create music without any complex. Discover it right now !"
